Chapter Elections!

It’s that time of year, where we are looking to hold chapter elections for the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer positions. Here is the schedule for elections:

  • October 1st – November 2nd : Nomination period.
  • November 5th – December 7th : Online voting for chapter members.
  • December 10 : Election Day, in person voting, and announcement of 2019 Board

If you are interested in running for office, and are a current member, please have someone nominate you before the deadline. Nominations can be sent to the Membership Chair, Tom Giffen, at vote@wmc-bmwcca.org.

Verified candidates can provide a photo and candidacy statement, and will be included in electronic and paper ballots.

During November, we’ll (hopefully) have on-line voting set up for chapter members to be able to vote. If you cannot vote on-line or want to vote in person, you can do so at our December 10th Board/Membership meeting, starting at 6:30 PM, at the Common Man Restaurant in Windham, NH (see calendar for directions).

This year, there will be a Chapter Bylaw amendment on the ballot, asking if the membership will approve changing the term of the offices to two years, and to stagger the terms, so that only two Board positions are up for election each year. The thought is that this will potentially provide more continuity of the Board, as different people are elected over time.

If approved, the President and Secretary will start two year terms in 2019, and the Vice President and Treasurer will start two year terms in 2020. If not approved, the election this year will be for one year terms for all officers.  The Board is encouraging the membership to adopt this change.
